VW Transporter 2.5 Tdi 2002 SWB finished in original “Ice blue” 262,000 miles.

Long story with this T4, originally we did the interior work, fitting seats, windows and trimming, we did mechanical work and bodywork colour coding etc back in 2011.

I took this van back in PX against a newer Transporter in 2015 and in 2022 I purchased the van back from an insurance company with slight damage to drivers side!

We carried out all of the repairs, fully serviced the van inc cambelt water pump etc. It was sold on and would you believe, we have once again just taken it back in part exchange.

It is a very clean and very well looked after example with a steel tailgate. The engine has covered 262,000 miles and is spot on. If you know these engines 250K is nothing on them if they are serviced correctly. The ECU has been mapped taking BHP from 88BHP standard to around 120BHP and it pulls really well, gear selection is also smooth with no notching through gears on whining. It has leather front captains seats and a triple rear bench that is removable, a nice MOMO steering wheel, electric windows, speakers in rear door and extra lighting. It is insulated and trimmed with half carpet floor under and around seats and a hard wearing rear section of floor. The wheels are genuine RS6 18″ alloys with no dings or cracks, we have refurbished them and fitted brand new tyres, a gloss black badgeless front grille, rear tailgate spoiler and Totally Transporters livery through sides.

We sent van for MOT, carried out the very small items required for test, couple drop links, rear brake pads, fixed horn and drivers door, also sorted the few advisories picked up on test so the van has a clean 12 months MOT with NO advisories.

We fitted a new set of 50mm lowered rear springs and carried out a full service.

If you’ve been searching for the ultimate Volkswagen Transporter, something truly unique in so many respects, your search is over.

This Volkswagen Transporter started out life as a humble panel van, little did it know it would once meet an enthusiast with an obsession far beyond the norm, a desire to create the world’s best Volkswagen Transporter T4 and in our opinion along with countless show judges, he done just that. The skill, dedication and passion that has been poured into this bus is by no means for the faint of heart and all of that credit must go to the previous owner. The standard of work is impeccable, what you would expect to see on a high end classic car restoration or hot rod, it’s like nothing else you’ll see.

The project first started by finding the right vehicle, a low mileage first class condition T4 102 TDi tailgated van was sourced which was a challenge in itself. This incredible vehicle was then stripped to it’s shell and fully restored from the ground up using only new factory or bespoke parts which were sourced over 3 years.

Finished in flawless Volkswagen Carbon Steel metallic with custom air brushing, pin lining and breath-taking artwork. Each element of this bus from the bodywork, paintwork, air brushing, pin striping, interior works and custom parts such as the steering wheel and table have been carried out by individuals that are renowned in their respective fields.

The show standard finish is unsurpassable in every respect. The show wins this beautiful bus has accumulated and magazine features this vehicle has had are well publicised across Europe.

The fastidious approach the outside matches the interior. The vehicle has been camper converted to 2 berth using historical parts that are rare and crafted solely for the T4. The interior is lined with the scarce ‘Styleline’ moulded lining system which was manufactured by Tony Ellicott some years ago and near impossible to find today.

Working inwards, the bus features a wide Cityline Variotech bed system which again is near impossible to find, trimmed in soft Silver Nappa leather with contrasting Carbon grey insets and Fuchsia centres, all in keeping with the paintwork. The twin swivel captain seats have been trimmed in the same material with arm rests.

This breath-taking vehicle carries so much history from the rare parts acquired for the built, the many highly skilled craftsmen that were involved throughout the build to the meticulous nature it took to create such a masterpiece that’s worth of a museum. With that said, the vehicle can still be used, it’s practical, it’s fast, it’s beyond refined and will literally stop anyone in their tracks wherever it goes, it’s also a sound investment as T4’s are rising in value at exponential rate and this is by no means your average example.

VW Transporter T4 2.5TDi 2003 Special X

2003 Transporter T4 2.5 TDi 888 Special X

156000 miles usual SX spec, Twin captains seats, electric windows and mirrors, cruise control, remote central locking, tailgate (steel not glazed) tinted glass, and with the long nose / Caravelle front end.

Complete respray in (Steel grey) inside and out, van stripped to almost shell to carry out the work, new green over green top tint screen fitted (after body work has all been done) colour coded bumpers and mirrors, tailgate spoiler. Lowered 55mm onto gloss black 19″ “DARE” alloy wheels. Gloss black over green Totally Transporters decals through sides with matching green brake callipers.

Van has had a complete mechanical overhaul as with all our vans at Totally Transporters, all suspension checked and anything needed gets done. Same with the engine: complete service, inc cam belt and water pump, all filters replaced, brakes stripped, cleaned, greased and rebuilt, whole underside of van schultzed and wax oiled in the usual areas, van will be sold with 12 months MOT with NO advisories at all.

In cab is all clean and tidy and working as it should, both front seats are in very good order, bolsters are not worn, all arm rests work.

In rear is ply lined and again in really good order, there are no knocks on the rear wheel arches at all so you can see its been a well looked after van.

Included in the price will be two side windows fitted in privacy tint (if required) we have left it as a clean panel van for now.

All work carried out to the highest standard, all done by ourselves in house @ Totally Transporters.

Great little van should outlive most T5’s on the road, will only go up in value as they get harder to find now. Good for at least 1/2 a million miles if looked after and without question the best van built in the last two decades!
